MEET THE BOARD
Our Chairman, Mr Carroll Reeve, was the steering force in preparing the Neighbourhood Plan for the village in his role as Chairman of the Parish Council. He understands the housing needs of the village and the people who live in it. He also enjoys a successful track record with other village initiatives over a twenty year period. Previously, Mr Reeve was the chairman of a financial institution. |
Our Treasurer, Mr Andrew Flatt is a retired chartered accountant. Currently, chair of the governing body of a school, trustee of a foundation supporting deprived children and a business mentor. Previously, he was a partner with a firm of charted accountants. |
Our Secretary Sonia Davis enjoyed a varied and interesting career as a police officer for 25 years. She served in a wide variety of roles including the Mounted Branch, policing many demonstrations and ceremonial events on horseback. She was head of community relations in an inner London Borough and at the time of her retirement was the Chief Inspector in charge of public order training for the Metropolitan Police. She has now retrained as a veterinary nurse. Sonia comes from a farming background and is passionate about the countryside and village life. She moved to Lavenham with her husband at the start of 2020 and has since developed a range of local interests. |
Our Board member, Mrs Doreen Twitchett BEM, is the Chair of the Good Neighbour Scheme and started the Dementia Alliance in the village. She therefore has a very good understanding of the needs of our elderly residents. She has lived in the village all of her life and is well known and respected. In the Queen's 2021 New Year Honours list Doreen was awarded The British Empire medal for her work in the community. |
Our Board member, Mr Clive Burton moved into Lavenham because he wanted to be part of a village community; previously he lived in the countryside though only six miles away. Clive is a retired chartered accountant but has in his time worked for a bank lending to property companies, was financial controller of a property investment company, was financial director of a shipping company and ran a company which searched for residential properties in the UK for overseas buyers. |
Our board member James Andrews has lived in Lavenham all his life, he is fortunate to also work in the village running an insurance agency for NFU Mutual in a business partnership employing ten people. A keen walker and cyclist he enjoys the local countryside. James is passionate about Lavenham and its diversity and wants to help ensure it retains a sense of community. James sees his role on the CLT as an opportunity to use his local knowledge to put something back into this special village. |
Our Board Member, Julie Abbey Taylor is a housing professional. With extensive work experience in both the public and private sectors across a range of functions. Currently, with a national private affordable housing provider and is a trustee for the Community Land Trust Network. |
Our board member Amie Long has lived in Lavenham all her life and works at a local brewery in Sudbury. She is married with 2 sons, aged 15 and 11 who both attended the village primary school. Amie's family have lived in the village for several generations as have her husband and his family, so both feel a very strong connection to the village and value the importance of a close knit community. |
